Being located in Tamilnadu, like all tropical regions has tropical
weather. The weather in Ooty shows small seasonal variations which
is typical of all the tropical regions. Peak summer is from April
through June where the temperature can be quite high and uncomfortable.
Rain showers are possible towards the end of summer. Ooty climate
is best between the months from September till the next summer.
The winter season in these months also sees some showers from
the North East monsoons during the months between October and
December.

The winter season here averages between the highest of 20 degrees
and the coolest up to 5 degrees. This is considered as the best
time for tourism. The weather in Ooty has a great significance
on Ooty tourism as it controls the tourism flow of each season.
Ooty climate is favorable for the growth of a lot of flowering
trees and plants and the spring season has a mesmerizing effect.
The climate of Ooty is such that tourists not used to the tropical
sun, try and avoid the hill station during summer.
Woolen clothes are recommended during winter and body covering
cotton clothes are recommended in summer so that the skin is not
directly exposed to the sun. Nature has provided an abundance
of beauty to this “Queen of hill stations” and it
is up to us to choose the time best suited for us to visit this
place.
